Back when I was in college, one of my favorite things to do was to hit up the local 24 hours Walmart and do some late night grocery shopping.
I continued this after I got out of college because it was so nice to do my Walmart shopping when there were not a lot of shoppers in the store.
Unfortunately, those 24 hour Walmart store locations changed their hours in early 2020 and have yet to go back to being open 24/7.
I recently talked to my aunt Robin, who works at our local Walmart’s service desk, about the hours and closing times for most Walmart locations.

Does Walmart Close In 2021?
Yes, Walmart store locations do close across the United States in 2021.
As of Saturday, June 5, 2021 Walmart store hours are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. unless otherwise mandated by a government agency.
Those opening and closing times apply to all locations across the country.
Are you looking for the most up-to-date store hours at your nearest Walmart location? Check the store finder on their website or app for your local store’s hours, including pharmacy and vision centers.
Need to do more than just shop at your local Walmart?
As of Saturday, July 3, 2021 Walmart pharmacy and vision centers will move back to their pre-COVID operating hours seven days a week.
Typical pharmacy hours are Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Most vision centers will be open Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., and many will be open on Saturday and Sunday as well.
Of course, hours may vary, so check the hours in the Store Finder before heading out to your local Walmart store.

Is Walmart Open On Holidays?
Have you ever gotten around to making your holiday dinner and discovered that you need to make a last minute trip to Walmart for something?
Well, in the past, all Walmart stores were open on every holiday except for Christmas Day.
However, that has changed recently.
Walmart stores are now closed on Thanksgiving Day as well.
But your local Walmart store is open for all other holidays.
So, if you need to run out for something on Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, then it will need to be somewhere else because your local Walmart is closed for those two holidays.
Will Walmart Ever Be 24 Hours Again?
As a consumer and a big fan of 24 hour shopping, I certainly hope that we do see the return of 24-hour Walmart stores.
Of course, only Walmart staff know if this is in the works or not.
We can only hope that they determine it is more profitable to open for 24 hours than to remain closed overnight.
