Advisory Board Member

Oakland Grown is currently seeking applications for serving on our Advisory Board for a one-year term [January-December 2018]. Applications will be accepted until Dec. 20, 2017

We are seeking volunteer members who represent an extremely diverse representation of the population, geographic regions, small business sectors, and business-services sectors in Oakland. Qualifications are as follows:

Applicants should be owners, executive officers, or key operators of a business or nonprofit in Oakland. For purposes of this board, we define small business as being independently owned and operated with a majority ownership in Northern California and as having 20 locations or less with at least one location (and business license) in Oakland.

The Advisory Board will meet twice annually for 3 hours to receive updates on the current activities of the organization and to provide input to inform future planning.

The Advisory Board will receive updates at least six times per year from Oakland Grown as to achievements and future planning activities.

Periodically, the Advisory Board or specific Advisory Board members will be asked to offer feedback on an issue, opportunity, or decision under consideration.

Note: This is an unpaid, non-voting, and informal volunteer position with Oakland Grown, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit program of the Sustainable Business Alliance. We are establishing the advisory board because we value the insights of a diverse group of people who represent views and experiences that will help us succeed in our mission.
